Hello everyone,
After 3 month of hard work, and ripping down walls, the Assange Archive finally opened. We worked literally until the “last minute” to get everything ready for the big night.
We celebrated this powerful milestone with activists, artists, and supporters from across Germany, the UK, and beyond. It was a day filled with emotion, shared memories, and a renewed commitment to Julian’s vision—a world where truth and transparency are upheld, and freedom of expression remains an unassailable right.
Our Archive is far more than a collection of documents and artifacts. It stands as a dynamic, evolving science and art project, preserving a over an decade-long fight for freedom, truth, and human rights. This is a living, breathing space dedicated to documenting and celebrating the powerful impact of global activism. It’s not just an archive; it’s a tribute to those who, rain or shine, stood for Julian and his principles, transforming personal passion into global action.
In the Archive, we’ve curated and will curate - memories, artwork, and stories from over a decade of international efforts to free Julian. Brave activists, creatives, and truth-seekers from all over the world have come together to make this vision a reality. Their struggles, triumphs, and sacrifices now have a permanent home, a place where their voices and actions can inspire future generations. This living archive highlights that the fight for Julians freedom is not just about one man—it’s a movement rooted in defending freedom of the press, pushing back against government overreach, and advocating for human rights everywhere.
At this stage, we love to thank Carmen, Karin and Yves from the bottom of our heart, for taking care of every item arrived so far! Everything is photographed and gets a registration number. This will be the base of a digital archive we will set up in the future.
The Archive serves not only as a exhibit but as a space for community and reflection. Here, people can connect, share, and honour the incredible journey we’ve taken together. It’s a meeting place where activists and supporters can discuss the importance of press freedom, learn from past efforts, and strategize for future advocacy. For many who fought tirelessly for Julian’s release, this Archive represents a place to continue building upon that legacy.
Yesterday’s opening celebration was filled with energy and emotion. It was a gathering of different voices, unified by the fight for transparency, justice, and compassion. Meeting all of you, was highly emotionally. One guest said to Manja, that it hurts a bit to give all the things away, which was part of his life for years, but knowing that she will take care of it, makes him feel happy, as he knows it is in the “best hands”. (at this point Manja in tears..:-))
There was lots of laughter, music, tears, and dancing, great food, and cold drinks. —a powerful tribute to the resilience and unity that has defined this movement.
The Archive will be an evolving project, continually enriched by the contributions of those who wish to share their stories, materials, and memories. With every new piece of material, every banner, leaflet, photograph the Archive will grow into an even more comprehensive representation of this global movement. Our goal is to document the resilience and bravery of all those who played a part in this struggle, ensuring that their efforts are not forgotten.
To everyone who has been already part of this journey: thank you. Together, we’re preserving a history that must not be forgotten, and we’re setting a foundation for future generations to understand, engage with, and build upon.
This Archive is your story, too — help us bring it to life. If you have any questions, or like to visit us, please feel free to get in touch with Manja directly via eMail: manjamccade@protonmail.com

"Let us all commit to doing our part to ensure that the light of freedom never dims, that the pursuit of truth will live on, and that the voices of the many are not silenced by the interests of the few”

Amazing!! We have some stuff that may contribute.
Jesse Jett's performance on the Concerts for Assange.
Love seeing the life size cardboard standup that Somerset Bean created there... Bravo!
I have written posts about just a small handful of the journalists, creators and activists who fought for his freedom in the 3+ years since I've been publishing here.
Thank you for this.
Looks fabulous. Well done and congratulations on your opening. Thank you for creating such an archive - as those who don't know their history....
